About

Hi, I’m Morwenna — though most people call me Mo. I live in Bristol with my husband, our two children, and much-loved ginger cat, Clemie.

I’m an Artist and Surface Pattern Designer, creating hand-drawn, nature-inspired designs that bring a sense of calm and joy into everyday life.

My work starts with simple black pen sketches — loose, whimsical, and full of character — which I then scan and colour digitally. The result is art that feels fresh, light, and a little bit playful.

Why Verbena Wave?

The name Verbena Wave reflects both who I am and what I create. “Morwenna” means crest of a wave, and I’ve always felt deeply connected to the ebb and flow of the natural world. The Verbena flowering plant, with its strength, resilience, and delicate beauty, is also a magnet for pollinators — the quiet, tireless workers that keep ecosystems thriving. Together, these ideas capture the heart of my work: designs inspired by nature’s rhythms that carry a sense of calm, vitality, and quiet joy into everyday life.

My Inspiration

I started Verbena Wave because I believe art isn’t just decoration — it’s something that can support wellbeing and help us slow down in busy, often overwhelming lives. Whether through a greeting card that connects you meaningfully with someone you love, an art print that brings serenity to your walls, or a fabric pattern that can be used in home décor or for creating thoughtful gifts, my aim is to create designs that feel gentle, grounding, and joyful.

A Little About Me

Beyond my sketchbook, I’m happiest with a book in hand, on a walk through the trees, or curled up with tea, cake, and some good music or a film. I love gardening, chocolate, autumn’s golden colours, and sharing slow, simple moments with the people (and cat!) I love.

Work With Me

Alongside selling my cards, art prints and fabric, my designs are also available for licensing. If you’re interested in collaborating or stocking my work, I’d love to hear from you.
