A New Chapter
Sometimes in life and creativity, what we really need is someone who truly sees us. Someone who understands our ideas, encourages us to keep going, and cheers us on when the path feels unclear. Recently, I found that person in the creative genius Mandy Nicholson—and as a result, my business has stepped into a new chapter.
Working with Mandy
When I began working with Mandy, I was searching for clarity. I had all the ideas, the artwork, and the passion—but I wanted a clearer vision of where it was all heading as a business. Mandy offered not just guidance, but encouragement. She reflected back to me what was already there, helping me see my creativity with fresh eyes whilst developing my business skills..
That experience reminded me how powerful it is to have someone in your corner. We all need to feel supported, valued, and understood—and that’s what I hope my art and designs can provide for you.
In August 2025 I was fortunate to spend a long weekend in beautiful Scotland with Mandy at The Art Bank for the Creative Mastermind Retreat. It was a magical few days filled with creativity, nature, great conversation, fabulous food, and personal development thanks to Mandy’s brilliant coaching .

The Rebrand: Introducing Verbena Wave
With Mandy’s support, I rebranded my business under a new name: Verbena Wave.
The name carries layers of meaning:
- Verbena: a flowering plant that is both resilient and elegant, quietly beautiful and deeply supportive of the ecosystem around it. Pollinating insects love it!
- Wave: a nod to my own name, Morwenna, which means crest of a wave—and also a symbol of flow, energy, and gentle strength.
Together, Verbena Wave captures everything I want my art to be: rooted in nature, filled with quiet resilience, and able to bring fresh energy and calm beauty into your world.
Whilst on the Creative Mastermind Retreat, Mandy asks all her participants to paint either a brick of her garden wall or a panel of the old doors which are secured in her garden. My brick painting became the basis for the new Verbena Wave logo.

The Verbena & the Pollinators
Verbena fascinates me. It stands tall and delicate, yet robust and resilient, often able to grow in cracks in the pavement. The beautiful clusters of purple flowers offer nectar and nourishment to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. These pollinators are small and often unseen, but they are absolutely vital. Without them, the ecosystem wouldn’t survive.
I like to think of myself as the verbena—rooted, creative, offering beauty and nourishment through my work. And I see you, my customer, as the bee or butterfly. You’re busy, always giving, sometimes underestimated, undervalued or overlooked, yet completely essential.
My art—whether a greeting card, an art print, or a fabric design—is created to support and encourage you, just as verbena supports its pollinators. A moment of beauty, a word of affirmation, a reminder that you are seen, valued, and vital. You matter.
What This Means for You
This rebrand doesn’t change what I create—it deepens it. Verbena Wave is all about:
- Greeting cards that say I see you to someone you care about.
- Art prints that bring a sense of calm and joy into your home.
- Fabric and homewares that make your space feel fresh, nurturing, and uniquely yours.
Just as Mandy helped me find clarity, I hope my work helps you pause, reconnect, and feel more supported in your everyday life.
